Five_Red_Feathers.JPG
Five Red Feathers263 viewsThis painting is a man with red ochre on this face and feathers. I used my own hand-prints for his hands. All the coloured dots symbolize spirits in the air. This piece reminded of a King Crimson album cover I once saw.

Moose_Against_Blue_Sky.JPG
Moose Against Blue Sky (SOLD)445 viewsI thought I saw this moose just after the sun had set, when reality can be blurred. I thought I could hear him making his call. Maybe he was singing to all the other moose that came before him.
Horned_Snake.JPG
Horned Snake (SOLD)357 viewsThe Great Horned Snake appears in many Mi'k maq legends. One role it would play when conjured up by a shaman, was to capture the enemy and pin it to a tree with it's great horn, and the only red ochre would release the horn.

Mother_Earth.JPG
Mother Earth (SOLD)467 viewsThis painting is of Mother Earth coming out as the sun is going down, and the last glimmers of gold are dancing on the earth. This dance is hard to see, and you must look closely.
Four_Humpback_Whales_Drum.JPG
Four Humpback Whales518 viewsThis drum is unique in that it's base is made from an eight-hundred year old cedar tree from New Brunswick. It is decorated with four humpback whales swimming around a Mi'k maq eight-point star. This drum has a superb voice and is able to make many different sounds. The tree sap is coming out of the wood and colouring the moose skin, this process will continue with time. The tree is part of the natural painting process.
